MySpace a place for friends

Warum braucht die Welt das fünfzehntausendste Label? Kauft man in Zeiten von Tauschbörsen und MySpace noch Musik? Kann man zu digitalen 1er und 0en emotionale Bindungen aufbauen? Wieso wird die Qualität von Musik in Auswertungen von viralen Netzwerken, Crosspromotionmassnahmen und WinWin-Situationen ausgedrückt? Wieso schimpfen Indies immer auf die Majors, und wollen doch am liebsten und im geheimen genauso sein oder nutzen fälschlicherweise die selben Strukturen? Wieso hört sich "amtlicher" Sound nach bürokratischen Regeln an? Wieso schreit jeder nach Branchenüblichkeit, und geht somit den selben falschen Weg, den 15.000 vor ihm gegangen sind? Wieso sorgt Hire And Fire in der Medienlandschaft dazu, dass Humankapital und Wissen verloren geht, und die meisten ihre Fehler immer und immer wiederholen, ohne daraus zu lernen?

Das alles haben wir uns auch gefragt, und I Hate Music Records Anfang 2007 nach zehnjähriger Erfahrungen im Profigeschäft gegründet.

Wir werden uns nicht anmaßen, mehr vorzugeben, als wir vorzuweisen haben - wir lernen täglich aus den Fehlern anderer - wir sehen unsere Stärken in einer konstanten Arbeit und in dem Ausnutzen von Nischen, an die vor uns nur wenige gedacht haben. Wir wollen weder an imposanten Homepages, dekadenten Prachtbauten und sinnlosen Geldverschwendungsaktionen gemessen werden. Wir definieren unseren Erfolg aus der langjährigen Treue unserer betreuten Acts der letzten 10 Jahre.

Why would the world need another record label? Is there anyone out there still buying records in times of file-sharing networks and MySpace? Can you build up an emotional relation towards 0s and 1s? Why is the quality of music expressed in networks, cross promotion measures and WinWin-situations? Why do Indies always pick on Majors while at the same time they would love to be just like them or use their structures to distribute „indie“ music? Why does a „proper“ production sound like burocracy to your ears? Why is everybody talking about anything being „customary within the industry“ and, by doing so, taking the wrong way just as millions have done before? Who invented the theory of Hire and Fire in the media business? A theory that destroys human capital and knowledge. Why do they all make the same mistakes over and over again without learning from them?

Well, we have asked this question, too. And due to this, we have founded I Hate Music Records in 2007, after 10 years of experience in the professional music business.

We won’t promise you anything we can’t keep up to. Every day, we learn from mistakes others make. Our strength lies within constant work and taking advantages of niches – niches which not many have thought of before us. We don’t want to measure our success in brilliant websites, decadent houses or any other measure of wasting money without reason. We define our success in the longstanding loyalty of our acts – some of them for more than 10 years.

Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass aufgrund zahlreicher Einsendungen manchmal kein persönliches Feedback erfolgen kann. Grundsätzlich werden aber alle Demos angehört. Wenn ihr uns begeistern konntet, melden wir uns auch sicher sofort, deshalb immer Telefonnummer und Emailadresse angeben. Leider können wir aus Kostengründen keine der eingesandten Demos zurückgeschicken.

Bitte schickt uns keine MP3s, JPGs oder WAV-Files, etc. als Emailanhänge (außer wir fordern diese bei Euch an) - setzt dazu lieber Links zu den Files ein ... wer hiergegen verstößt, und unser Emailpostfach vollstopft, wird mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit direkt im Papierkorb landen.

Ein vollständiges Demopaket besteht aus:
Demo-CD (3-5 unveröffentlichte Titel - falls mehr Songs auf der CD bitte Anspieltipps vermerken), Bandbio (Entstehung der Band, Info über Mitglieder, Erfolge, Zukunft, Musikstil), Pressespiegel (Rezensionen, Interviews, etc.), Bandfoto, vollständige Gigliste, Kontaktinformationen, Ansprechpartner, sowie all das, mit dem Ihr uns davon überzeugen könnt, dass ihr jene Band seid, auf die wir schon immer gewartet haben ...

Zusätzlich solltet ihr Euch darüber im klaren sein: Erfolg in dem Geschäft haben nur jene Künstler, die über Talent, Kreativität, Professionalität, Eigenständigkeit, Ausdauer, Überzeugungskraft, ... und viel Glück ... verfügen. Wenn diese Faktoren auf Euch nicht zutreffen sollten, so verschwendet nicht das Porto, und seht davon ab, uns zu bemustern.

Please be aware that we can not guarantee personal feedback, since we receive numerous demos every day. However, we can assure you that we will listen to your stuff. If your band excites us, we will get back to you immediately. Due to this, we ask you to include your contact information. For financial reasons, we can not send back any demos.

Please do not send us any MP3, JPG or even WAV-files unless we ask you to. Just send us links. If you should send us these files, it is quite likely we won’t answer at all.

Your demo should include:
A CD (3-5 unreleased tracks – if there are more songs, please let us which songs you want us to listen to), a band bio (founded in…, members, achievements, future, musical style), press quotes (reviews, interviews, etc.), a picture of your band, a complete list of the gigs you have played, contact information, and anything else that might convince us that you are the hottest band around.

Additionaly, you should be aware of the following fact: Only artists that have talent as well as creativity, professionality, their „own style“, patience and many more things can be successful in this business. If you feel you are not able to meet these criteria, please do not send us a demo.
